Sarah and Christian.

When Christian Met Sarah...

Sarah and Christian met while sharing a ride through a snow storm on Christmas Eve, 2000. Their mutual friend, Karla Faulconbridge (Sarah's maid of honour!), had rented a car to go home for the holidays. She invited Christian and Sarah to share the ride with her to Ottawa, passing through Perth along the way.

The storm of Christmas Eve, 2000.

That Christmas Eve, a major snow storm hit Eastern Ontario and the normally 4.5 hour drive, turned into a 7 hour ordeal under treacherous driving conditions. The long drive, however, afforded Christian the opportunity to get to know Karla's best friend, Sarah.

Sarah patiently put up with Christian's desperate attempts to impress her with his knowledge of genealogy and beer, while trying her best to finish her Harry Potter book.

Three weeks later, they had their first date.

Almost exactly four years to the day of their meeting, Christian proposed to Sarah and became the happiest man alive when she said yes.

The Crunch is coming...I can feel it...

So, Christian made me sit down at this computer (which I do all day) so I'm not usually too keen on doing it at night...to provide everyone with an update - so here it comes:

I can feel it in the background of my mind every day. The Crunch is coming. Very soon. I think it's the time in any event planning/project where you know everything must in place, everything had to be ordered, everyone involved had to be talked to, everything on the list had to be crossed out (especially as a 'list' driven person).
The Crunch is almost here.

Christian was a sweetie and went and measured the Knudsens property to see where we are fitting the big tent and all of you. (Sorry Dad, how do you feel about being placed next to the porta-potties? ha!ha!)

So let's take stock of where things are at:
- invites - out in the mail (hope you got yours?)
- RSVPs - coming in...(did you send yours back?)
- caterer - good to go! just finalizing details.
- photographer - booked & met in person
- flowers - ordered!
- wine - made (thanks Dad!)
- Minister - booked & met (still details to be worked out here...)
- rental tents etc. - almost there!
- dress - first fitting coming up in April
- honeymoon - 50 % done - still shopping around for prices/locations
- personal grooming in prep for wedding pics
- centrepieces - taken care of - thank you Cathy & Gisela!
Well, you get the picture.

So next steps are:
1. Finalize honeymoon
2. Finalize lay-out of tent/set-up
3. Ensure Christian get something to wear for the day. (Christian? you are on top of this..right?)
etc. etc.
This list is obviously too long to put here...but you get the idea.

Anyhoo - enough about me and the wedding...ok, so it turns out it's all about me and the wedding these days...do I like this attention? do I hate this attention? That shall have to be another blog entry into the very complicated mind of Sarah Fink.
On that note - ta! ta! for now (TTFN).

You've done lots of planning but is everything ready?
Are you sure that the portapotties will be there MF the 3rd?
Are you packed yet for your trip?
(Don't go looking for drachmas.)
Has Annie been invited?
